Michigan Works! West Central Names Reed City Group Employer Of The Month For June 2025

June 3, 2025

Local Manufacturing Facility Has Operated In Reed City Since 1959

Reed City Group LLC has been a cornerstone of manufacturing in Osceola County since 1959. Based in Reed City, the company has grown from a modest mold-making shop into a full-scale manufacturing powerhouse, specializing in injection molding, mold making, automation equipment and cleanroom manufacturing.

Yet, what truly sets Reed City Group apart isn’t just what it makes—it’s how the company treats the people who make it all possible. The foundation of Reed City Group’s success lies in its deep-rooted values. From the first day on the job, employees enter a culture built on accountability, development, and treating others with dignity.

These principles are more than words — they drive the company’s operations and foster an environment where people genuinely care for one another. It’s a place where doing the right thing, even when no one is looking, isn’t just encouraged — it’s expected.

That people-first culture has paid off. Reed City Group enjoys a remarkably low turnover rate, far below industry standards. Employees cite the “family atmosphere,” strong support from leadership and mutual respect as reasons they stay. Flexibility and understanding are more than perks—they’re part of daily life. It’s not unusual to hear someone describe the company as a second family, and it’s clear those aren’t empty words.

Reed City Group also stands out for its commitment to growth, not just as a company, but for every individual on the team. The business offers USDOL registered apprenticeships in Mold Making, Electrical Panel Building and Process Technology, giving people hands-on opportunities to advance their careers while learning from experienced mentors.

New employees are valued for their work ethic, team mentality and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. The skills they need can be taught, but what matters most is character.

The company continues to grow and is currently hiring Clean Room Operators to join its team. With competitive wages, a strong benefits package and real room for advancement, these roles offer a chance to be part of something meaningful.

At Reed City Group, success isn’t measured only in parts shipped or contracts won — it’s seen in the commitment to employees, the loyalty they return and the pride they take in doing exceptional work together.

Through decades of change in the manufacturing industry, Reed City Group has never lost sight of what matters most: its people. That steadfast focus has made it not just a business success, but a model for how manufacturing companies can thrive by putting values into action.

The team at Reed City Group lives each day by the company’s creed: “Every day, sincerely and without phoniness, try to understand and appreciate the people who work with you. Do your job well and learn your job well, but always remember that the people you work with are your most valuable asset. Embrace them. Honor them. Respect them.”

Michigan Works! West Central’s Business Services team has helped Reed City Group successfully apply for and receive numerous Going PRO Talent Fund grants, assisted many employees overcome barriers to employment, ramp up their USDOL registered apprenticeship program and more! It is for these reasons and more that Michigan Works! West Central is proud to select Reed City Group as its June 2025, Employer of the Month.
