Founded in 1984, by Earl and Linda Peterson, fourth-generation fruit growers, Peterson Farms began as a facility to process their own tart cherry tonnage. Today, it markets more than 150 million pounds of frozen fruit and 7 million gallons of apple juice, cider and concentrates annually. The company operates five SQF-certified facilities totaling more than 2 million square feet, including processing and storage capabilities for IQF fruit, juice, fresh-cut apples, applesauce and more. It is also home to the largest freezer storage facility in the Midwest. Over the years, the Petersons have remained dedicated to their founding belief: “Listen to your customer while providing the highest quality product.”

Peterson Farms is a leading supplier to multiple industries, including K-12 schools, healthcare institutions, food service and retail. The company provides fresh-cut apple slices, applesauce and juice cup products to schools across the country. These healthy, great-tasting products meet USDA guidelines to help ensure children receive their recommended daily fruit servings. In healthcare settings, Peterson Farms’ individually packaged options are ideal for grab-and-go offerings, supporting flavor variety, convenience and labor efficiency. Their juices and concentrates are made from 100 percent fruit with no additives or preservatives, and offer pure, natural flavor to meet growing consumer demand for clean-label products. Their family of brands includes Lakewood Organic Juices, Renew Juice Company and Antioxidant Solutions, each committed to delivering high-quality fruit and vegetable beverages.

With nearly 700 year-round employees and close to 900 during peak season, Peterson Farms is the largest employer in Oceana County. Its culture emphasizes safety, teamwork and mutual respect, which is reflected in the benefits provided to employees. Associates have access

to employer - sponsored health coverage, a 401(k) plan and an onsite urgent care clinic operated in partnership with Trinity Health Medical Group. Year-round housing is available at reduced rates, and discounted childcare is offered through the Oceana County Early Learning Center. Associates living in company housing also receive transportation to and from work, as well as shopping assistance.

The company promotes personal and professional growth through tuition reimbursement, leadership training through its Internal Development Employee Academy (IDEA), and free English and Spanish language classes. Employee recognition is woven into the company culture, with appreciation events, attendance bonuses, service awards and annual celebrations, such as the company picnic and veterans luncheon. The company partners with suppliers that demonstrate social and environmental responsibility, and align with Peterson Farms’ emphasis on quality, timing and cost efficiency.
