Manufacturer receives funds for training 53 employees

Congratulations to UACJ Automotive Whitehall Industries in Ludington for recently completing its Going PRO Talent Fund training plan for 53 employees! The funds are reimbursement for training 53 employees, including training for 12 individuals on using Mastercam; leadersip training for 38 individuals; and to add three new USDOL Registered Apprentices in the Electrician program.

Our Executive Director Shelly Keene presented Extrusion Plant Manager Duane Tyndall and President David Cooper with a $70,145 reimbursement check on March 2, 2022.

UACJ Automotive Whitehall Industries previously received Going PRO Talent Fund awards in FY18, FY19 and FY21. They were awarded funds this past fall for the FY22 talent fund to train 112 new and incumbent workers on Operator Certification that will be customized for each department.

Although the current Going PRO Talent Fund application period is closed, it is never too early to start thinking about your company’s training needs. Eligible businesses can apply for up to $1,500 per individual (existing or new-hire employees) for training on a new or expanded skill. That amount increases to up to $3,000 per individual for first-year USDOL registered apprentices.
