Each year, the Michigan Works! Association recognizes a staff person from each of the Michigan Works! agencies across the state. These individuals are those who go above and beyond their daily duties to make a difference. This year, the team at Michigan Works! West Central has selected a Talent Specialist who exemplifies dedication, compassion and an unwavering commitment to youth success across the region.

What truly sets her apart as a shining star is her compassion for the individuals she serves. Her enthusiasm is evident in everything she does, from celebrating others’ achievements to personally attending youth participants’ graduations. She also supports her coworkers, mentors youth, champions new opportunities, and goes above and beyond with genuine care, passion and purpose. Our organization and communities are stronger because of it.

“Ann has really stepped up this year to go above and beyond. While still maintaining a case load, she took over the planning of Dreams to Destinations and then stepped in to help facilitate the Lake County Employability Skills training program. She shows great passion for our programs and our clients. When Ann is not planning and doing workshops, she makes connections in our schools and with our clients. Ann's enthusiasm and passion is an inspiration.”

Ann has developed a strong and collaborative relationship with Oriole Academy in Mason County, creating valuable connections that directly benefit students. She also continues to provide ongoing support to youth in Lake County and has taken a key role in launching and supporting the first-ever Career Readiness pilot program. Through her dedication, initiative and commitment to participant success, Ann has made a significant and positive impact across the communities she serves.”
