Graduates Sponsored By Local Police Agencies, Have Jobs After Graduation

Congratulations to the 55th graduating class of Kirtland Community College's Police Academy, especially Jesse Hyden, Travis Holda and Shane Helmer who received support through Michigan Works! West Central's Public Safety Careers Council of West Michigan collaborative program!

Kirtland Community College held the graduation on Dec. 2, 2022, where they graduated 17 students from across Northern Michigan. Helmer, Holda and Hyden were able to graduate the academy with the help of Michigan Works! West Central. All three students were sponsored by local police agencies and had full-time jobs lined up for after graduation.

Through the Public Safety Careers Council of West Michigan, Michigan Works! West Central was able to provide support services and able to pay for training for the three students. For more information about the collaborative and training opportunities, click here.
