Lake County-Based Company Completes Manufacturing Training For 7 Employees

Debra Plaster, the human resource director of Peacock Industries in Lake County, had long recognized the need to empower their employees with the latest skills and knowledge. When she reached out to Michigan Works! West Central, a dynamic partnership was formed to provide training opportunities for their workforce. The goal was simple: to enhance the capabilities of Peacock Industries' employees, ultimately fostering growth and prosperity within the community.

Over the course of several months, Plaster and Michigan Works! West Central, worked to design a tailored training program that met the specific needs of Peacock Industries. They ensured employees received top-notch training in their respective fields, from manufacturing techniques to soft skills development.

With the training program nearing completion, it was time for the much-anticipated reimbursement. Plaster and Kevin Welch, Business Services Specialist for Michigan Works! West Central, gathered at Peacock Industries' Baldwin location for a momentous occasion. Smiles and excitement filled the room as Debra Plaster received a check from Welch, symbolizing the successful completion of the program and the reimbursement that Peacock Industries rightfully deserved.

The hope is the impact of this partnership was not confined to just Peacock Industries, but ripple out through Lake County, with a more skilled and motivated workforce contributing to the region's economic growth. Peacock Industries and Michigan Works! West Central partnership is a shining example of how Going Pro Talent Funds can create opportunities for individuals, enhance local businesses, and drive economic prosperity. As Debra Plaster proudly received the reimbursement check, it was not just a financial gain for Peacock Industries but a testament to the power of collaboration and investment in the workforce.
