We Provide The Hot Dogs, You Bring Snacks & Together We'll Build Your Workforce!

Michigan Works! West Central is bringing back its wildly successful Hiring Parties in 2023! Events are scheduled for May and June. Employers are encouraged to register for the free block-party-style job fairs by clicking here.

Last year, we hosted six Hiring Parties. A total of 174 employers participated at these events, which attracted 390 job seekers! At least 182 individuals were offered work as a result of attending these events, producing a 47-percent job-placement rate! Register today for one or all of our Hiring Parties to boost your workforce this summer and beyond!

At the event, we will provide a hot-dog lunch, and ask that participating employers supply job seekers with snacks, sides, beverages, etc. Participation is free. To register your business, click here.

Michigan Works! West Central's 2023 Hiring Parties will be held on the following dates:

  • May 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Baldwin service center, located at 5252 M-37.
  • May 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Big Rapids service center, located at 14330 Northland Drive.
  • June 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Hart at the Oceana County Fairgrounds, located at 1025 S. State St.
  • June 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary Park in downtown Ludington.
  • June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Newaygo service center, located at 9075 S. Mason Drive.
  • June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Reed City service center, located at 240 E. Church Ave.

"Participation at our 2022 Hiring Parties was beyond anything we expected," said Michigan Works! West Central Executive Director Shelly Keene. “Our Hiring Parties are a great way to bring job seekers and employers together in a casual setting, all while sharing some lunch. Last year, participating employers boasted an average 47 percent hiring rate! We're hoping to see an increase in the number of employers participating, job seekers who attend and, ultimately, an increase in the number of hires made!"
