Department Of Labor & Economic Opportunity: May Is Mental Health Awareness Month In Michigan
State Is Offering A Series Of Webinars about Workplace Well-Being
This May, as the weather continues to brighten, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity wants to shine a light on Mental Health Awareness Month and the great work LEO has been doing to highlight the importance of Workplace Mental Health efforts.
When we address workplace mental health, it fosters a supportive environment where employees feel valued, understood and empowered to seek help when needed. When organizations prioritize mental well-being, they not only reduce burnout and absenteeism but also boost morale, productivity and overall job satisfaction — creating a healthier, more resilient workforce for the long term.
Here at LEO, we’ve created many resources for you to promote mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Our Workplace Mental Health report outlines key strategies for employers to build supportive organizations by integrating mental health strategies that establish healthier workplaces, enhance employee wellbeing and promote resilient companies.
LEO is offering several upcoming webinars about Cultivating a Workplace Culture of Well-Being. You can check out the next session on June 12, and you can access previous recordings if you want to catch up on all the previous topics covered. These webinars cover a variety of topics including common mental health conditions, the impact of stigma at work, how to foster a supportive workplace and much more.

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month this May, remember supporting mental well-being in the workplace isn’t just a one-month focus — it’s a year-round commitment. By continuing to prioritize mental health, we create a stronger, more compassionate and more productive workplace for everyone.
